Yes mine too but it picked up one of our local LEO using Ka band C/O at .5 mile. Pretty much on par with my V1 does in town but the X50 is much quieter.
I was in the car for quite a while yesterday and had three separate LEO K-band encounters. Range appears very good but not to the point where I can say it's spectacular. However, these were not difficult-to-detect scenarios. I guess the reality is that the M4 antenna design must yield a much quieter device. I'm still trying to figure out if that's good. It certainly provides more filtering of extraneous signals when riding around on local roads. My V940 had the M4 design, I just don't think it was this quiet. Maybe the filtering between Escort and BEL are not identical??
I checked in with the folks at Escort and he told me "the Black's filtering is the same as the X50 silver's"...just different antenna designs.
I may end up putting this "Black" unit in my wife's car and retire the silver X50 she drives with. It might be a better solution as she often unplugs the silver device because of the frequent non-LEO alerts.
At the end of the day, this new "Black" unit looks like a winnar, and quite a value for the $$.
Dayum! I had a couple of real LEO threats this afternoon and Blackie has a serious set of b***s !!
I had a stationary Ka-band encounter and the range was stellar...unlike anything I've seen
IMO the new X50 has a little better off axis than my S7 models, definitely better than the previous X50.
I was going to say the same thing.
Nice!! Vanman was right!!
