escort 9500ix new or used?

ok well i think im going to get a 9500ix but since i get payed minimum wage its hard to come by with lots of money so i was thinking on buying a used one do you think this is a good idea? what about a refurbished one? or should i just buy a brand new one not even out of the box? what if i buy a used one and it goes bad after a few weeks can i send it in to get it fixed? how much would it cost?
new i could pick one up in box for 460, used prolly 400 or a little less but doesnt come with the box etc

New. It then comes with a warranty and you can buy an extended one for $30 or so, which gives you 3 years of worry-free operation. It took me a looong time to save up for my 8500 when I was 16/17, but looking back it was one of my best decisions and purchases ever.

i bought mine used for $340 local off craigslist, the guy never registered it so i got the three months of free updates. Some of the used ones will be registered already and the unit can only be registered to ONE email address from what I understand so be careful with used 9500ix. Make sure you get the previous owner to change the email address for you or find one that isnt registered if you plan on using the update system.

works great, never had an issue, frankly though new ones just have that new out of the box feeling of happiness which is sometimes worth it.

Well, if he get one like that the one that he get it from have to give him his email address and once he go to that website he can change it to what he want. I sold mine ix and I register it using my hotmail address as my main. I gave the guy that bought mine my email that I register with and when he went to the website he use my email and when he was in there he just change it to the one he want so it can be done but I know I would advise him to not to get use.

Hey guys I just bought mine at this Pawn shop close to my house well it was registered already is what Escort told me but me telling them it wasn't stolen and I could show them my receipt they let me register it again for a $10.00 dollar charge so I did and bought three years of updates for $39.99 I tell you Escort sure was super nice to me as always.

I love this detector and for what I paid for it I came out super.

Can someone explain how I would get updates I have a idea but if someone could explain it again it would help.
I know I can get them by using my Computer or Smart phone thats where I need help.?

I love this detector much better than my X50 one reason is it records where false signals are and records it after you pass by it three times and it tells you your speed limit when it picks up a signal.
