Thread: Which Escort ?

  1. #1

    Default Which Escort ?

I'm looking for a GPS unit. I don't want a phone app. Just a stand alone detector, with GPS, red light camera's. And a top notch detector. Which Escort is for me and my Corvette ?

Ahhh, that's where it's required for you to make a lil effort on your part to do some homework before spending any moolah. An informed buyer is a wise buyer for what meets his needs at a value price point.

I actually did find the comparison chart on their web site. Seems like the mount, and the color display. I love the options Escort has to offer, as the V1 is his way, or no way !!!

9500ix uses older technology and the Max is digital so there is a performance advantage.

9500 in my experiences was sluggish
Had a lousy signal ramp off
Not the hottest with laser ('fraid the Max is worse)

But overall, the Max is superior on the radar front.

On a real budget? I am also partial to the CR90. Great on Ka, Laser, and good GPS database. Great filtering on lane departure systems, really good. Just OK on K and fair on X. So depending upon where you drive that may or may not be an issue for you. It's also less than $200 street which is roughly a third the price of the Max/Max2! That's A LOT of value for the money, IMO and they are a pleasure I find to drive with.

You could always try an Escort out for up to 30 days and see if it's to your liking.

If you research radar comparison test and other threads, you will find out that the ix is rated poor against I/O and distance detection. For city driving on the same route lockouts, an ok RD. Why is GPS so important? Why lesser performance? Metro use only?

I'm enjoying my new MAX. There are some features I had to adjust in the advance settings, but I'm learning it more & more every day. The chasing bar graph lights were ridiculous, I got rid of them. The GPS speed, I don't agree with having it on the display, I have a speedometer.
