If you do have to give it up, be sure to report it stolen to V1. So if it's not destroyed and some court bozo get's it and sends it in....well.

Better yet, if you have to turn it in, report it stolen & open it up and disable the unit. I would pour a little JB weld into the opening of both horns and use some black finger nail polish to paint directly over the Lidar detection diode inside the case. JB Weld is non-conductive so the unit will not short out. It will still power on and appear to function properly. That way if it does end up in some judge/lawyer/LEO car they will think it works....until they get pulled over for speeding. Then if they try to send it in to Valentine for diagnostic/repair, it will have been reported stolen by you.
