Re: Laser Interceptor versions
Hi
Can you mix HP and Standard LI heads on the same CPU?
I am looking at setting four heads up front two angled for the Poliscan cameras and two straight for laser hand held shots.
Thanks

Yes, you may if you have a Generation 8 CPU.

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
I was going to PM you to ask this Cliff, but I thought it would be good to post the answer here.. anyway my question is:
At what time (timewise, and version-wise) did LI switch to all slim heads instead of "regular" and "slim"?

Effective March 1, 2010, we eliminated the larger 8.7 sensor from The LI-USA Product Line completely. With the new Generation 8's enhanced receiver and detection capabilities, we can now fully exploit the smaller sensor in both the front and rear vehicle applications and at the same time allowing for easier and more stealthy installs due to their smaller foot print.

Over a year ago. You have the new smaller sensors!

It would help if I actually read that whole post. Hahaha! Was gonna say, the heads are small enough as it is.

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
Guess that means I don't have the slim heads... so next question, what's the size (depth) difference between the 8.7 regular heads and the 8.8 slim heads? If/when I upgrade I'll have to shim them so they aren't recessed in the grill.

Re: Laser Interceptor versions

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
So a smidge under half an inch difference then? I'll need 1/2 inch shims if I upgrade my heads then, or completely re-engineer my in-grill mounting scheme...

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
Ok, So what changes have there been since 8.7.
Also, is there some way to be notified of firmware updates other than checking the web site?
Thanks

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
New Updates to address new LIDARS.
Because many change their email address often, the best way to see if an update is available is to add the update page to your favorites and check in once a month.

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
What is in the update? I have to buy an old school connector so I can update.

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
It adds new LIDARS.
Cables are available at Radio Shack and on Amazon.

Yes - Really !
Because I was present when it was tested @ a Shooters Meet.

When the point you made above was tested, why would I make a comment off Topic on something unrelated to what you brought up?
There are no secrets about this!
I did spill the beans already. (Depending on where you drive, you may not be fully protected.)

Re: Laser Interceptor versions
Laser Interceptor firmware 8.15 does not jam the Stalker XLR. It also still does not detect the DragonEye Compact and a version of the DragonEye LIDAR (DALA). The firmware does improve performance against the Truspeed S.

Were these guns being Jammed in 8.14? Hopefully there will be more firmware updates coming.

Firmware 8.16: Stalker XLR v.2
Firmware 8.16A: Bug fix
Firmware 8.18: DragonEye Compact (not all versions). Doesn't work well. I don't recommend updating to this firmware.
