That's true, but the LI had nothing to do with it (if I indeed got a PT)... I could have been running a RD alone and had the same amount of "success". I was likely below the LEO's pull-over threshold anyway since I was behind a LLH at the time.

In other words, I'm not counting this as a "save".

Good to hear that you finally encounter your first hit by Lidar!

Thanks Immigrant. I would be happier if it wasn't a PT... we should get together this spring and do some more testing!

I'd guess Ultralyte or Truspeed. Every time I've been hit by either gun, while not using countermeasures, the alert was always pretty short. Usually lasting just over a sec. If using a jammer, the alerts would sound until I turned the jammer off.
My guess is that if you heard the alert for more than 2 secs, the LI did it's job. Troopers here tend to pull you over if you're 15+ over the PSL.

Interesting encounter... My thoughts are either he got a punchthrough or a really fast reading after your auto killswitch disabled them.

Like the others said, I'd be cautious on using it. It's just another thing to go wrong. I'd feel much more confident disabling it myself.

I had a similar encounter with my LI. I was hit, then I went through the video several times over and noticed the cop stopped shooting me but the LI was still sounding. I didn't notice the switch blinking due to its location.

My guess is that he got a punch through or stopped shooting. I was already at or below the PSL after the LI's initial alert.

I wonder if cops sometimes estimate the car's speed and stop shooting if it's below the ticket range. (i.e. cop estimated I was not traveling above 35-40 in a 30, not worth ticketing, gave up clocking me) Another thought, is if someone near you is traveling noticeably faster, the cop will aim at him instead of you. (you may even detect laser scatter)

I spend way too much time thinking about this stuff lol.

It wasn't my "auto killswitch"; it didn't trigger at all. I know this because I designed the thing and it tells me if it shuts the jammer off. In fact, its two status LEDs tell me (a) when the jammer is on or off, and (b) whether it's actually jamming. It also beeps at me if it does kill the jammer. As I was braking I glanced at the LEDs and they indicated "jammer on; not currently jamming" (think of looking at the LI power switch's LED and seeing it steady on).

It's possible the LEO decided to change targets without getting my speed, but I'm thinking PT due to salt/grime on the heads and/or head location. I need to do some more testing this spring to see if I should relocate my heads.

Someday I hope to make my JTK device to sell. In fact, I hope to make a fancier one that will record the jam duration and the jam-to-brake duration, and show them on a LCD display. Imagine getting instant feedback on how well you JTKed, and if you got a PT.

Ultralyte or TruSpeed. Road grime is the death trap of laser jammers

Where do you have the jammers installed currently - In the lower grille?

Under the headlights seems to work best for me, but I never got a ticket with the LPP, Blinders or LIs in the lower grille and was hit many, many times
