Default Jamming an Over Pass Laser?

With apologies if this has been dealt with...I can't find anything by trying to search the forum.

Police on the highway #2 here, between Calgary and Edmonton are getting increasingly resourceful. Locals are reporting they are now targeting cars below from atop the overpass.

I wonder if this makes jammers less effective or ineffective?

    Thanks for any input.

I could see it done with a PLIII, but I'm not sure about the other 2 guns (UL, Stalker). The UL and Stalker sometimes took several seconds to acquire a speed on "normal" cars.

Granted, if you live in a state that requires a front plate, then probably any of the guns would get speeds easily.

Thanks for the feed back, guys.

Here in Alberta, they don't issue front plates at all.

Looks like, from those videos, that it's still hard to get a speed reading against a jammer.

I'm guessing LEOs just do it from the over pass because the angle makes it easier for them to target cars separately.

I got shot from an overpass and between my girl and myself, it took us at least 10 seconds to find the shooter. It was a Washington State Trooper motorcycle.

And more importantly, they are a LOT less likely to get hit by traffic there than on the side of the highway.

I have 7 confirmed saves with my V1 soley against OP shots, My LPP is just icing on the cake. Apparetnly it takes a few seconds more for the gun to lock on the vehicle, one time my V1 alerted so long I was cussing at it and ready told my wife, "Great it's locked up!" Wrong.....

As long as your heads have about a 11 degree up (+/- 5) angle, free of obstructions, you'll be fine.

The problem isn't reception, as ahmadr pointed out - it's just that these jammers can only "output" so much.

    http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...derations.html

In the absolute worst-case scenario, you'd be engaged just as your vehicle came within extreme-close range, and then there'd be a pronounced dip in the roadway that caused your heads to completely lose-sight of the LIDAR - and honestly, that's the only way that PTs from such a setup could be elicited.

But typically, as overpass shots would start from farther out (elevation/angle and tracking-error concerns), as long as your heads have a proper field-of-view, and are properly leveled, you truly should be just fine.
