Both said that it should not affect overall durability/longevity of the units.

As brother ELVATO said, the diodes pulse in the parking mode, continuously, no matter what - i.e. that they cannot be shut off.

The only possible difference in impact to this factor would be the duration of time that jamming is enabled, and that will be up to end-user control.
