Always have your system tested before you put any faith in it. Also I like to use Veil just adds another layer of defense.

Hey guys - I was finally able to post the pictures of the set up, ticket and the approximate topography of the area where i was shot.
I did talk to Cliff today. I sent him an email asking him to look at this post and provided my serial number to see if my set up is optimal. He called me back within about 5 minutes of receiving my email (and it's labor day). So big props for the tenacity, thank you.
I bought my set up as a 3 head set up from a guy in Portland OR - and this is why i have only one head in the rear. From the get go I knew the rear head was not functioning (no response from remote controls, parking aid etc. Also no error message on start up) but I still left it plugged into the controller... I've been lazy in getting that unit out and sending it off to Cliff who asked me to send it to him months ago. Turns out that he thinks there may be an issue with the heads not syncing with each other as I have one non-responding unit in the rear that is plugged into the controller.
I'm anxious to test the system. They primarily use Ultralyte and PL2 / 3 here in SE WISC. Anyone local have a gun / want to split costs on a rental and plan a weekend to do some testing before and after my new/fixed head arrives?

That hill isn't as steep as I figured it would be... and at 1980 feet, that is one hell of a shot...
Are these generation 8 LI heads?

And I'm absolutely all for mounting the heads {WHEREVER} they need to be mounted in order to have optimal protection. I would be willing to cut the grilles to fit into block 1 or 2. I would also be willing to have a bracket come out from the bottom of the headlights for mounting on long distance trips that I would shift the heads to.
Whats the optimal set up? And how is the roof protected?

2, bubbles out, and have them sticking out a little to protect against overpass shots, and the headlights.

2 is a decent position.
I would go with 1, just because it allows for wider placement.

2 is your best mounting point.
