I got a price quote today from the place where I bought my radar detector. Basically at this place you have to do alot of dealing to get a good price. I got a quote of $597 installed plus tax. These guys do the most professional installs you'll ever see. I'm just wondering if this is a good price or not. I would also like to add that laser jammers are illegal in my state.

You should buy it from Roy. It's 499 which includes an Install Card (is there a state nearby where it is legal and you can use the Install card?). Roy has the best service around, if you can work out a place to get it installed (pm Roy about it) then I would recommend going that route.

The $499 price tag from Escort includes install. Figure 9% tax, that's around $550 out the door.

Are you wanting a very customized install or something that they quoted you an extra $50? If not, then $600 is too much.

Yes sorta customized. I want the shifter box hidden in one of my compartments so if I get pulled over I can just close the lid and its out of sight.

I wouldnt go with a Zr3...honestly! I have a Zr3 and its a good jammer I know I can jam the ultralyte!! BUT my point is I would wait till GOL which is 2 weeks from now and you probably want a jammer that wont give any jam codes...cause your state is an ANUS state as Davekr said...and so I would wait before you do anything Roys Prices dont change and that quote you got shouldnt change either...so the best thing to do honestly is just wait nd if you are ok with jam codes then go ahead I guess...BUT I really would suggest waiting because the GOL will tell us if the new jammers that are coming out give jam codes or actually do as they say which they both say AL and DS NO jam codes are given....But no onw ill truely know till GOL...my advice is wait!!
