    Default Escort shifter

Who here uses an Escort Shifter ZR3? And who uses the rear mounted transceiver on the rear? Although one unit is good enough to give you time to slow down, some people claim that it is ineffective, but i have a solution to this. Simply put a splitter on the rear input on the control module and hook up another rear transceiver. That'll do the trick for optimal rear coverage.

I fitted mine yesterday. Testing it on Monday. Will let you know of the results.

When we put all three units on the front of the vehicle, it did a fantastic job at jamming, minus the stalker.

I bought a used one, but haven't mounted it yet. My intent is to place the rear hardware on the rear of my car.

I have one on my old car. The rear sensor was mostly useless. SOMETIMES it jammed for a few seconds. It had no effect on the Stalker LZ1 or the LTI 100LR. IT sometimes worked on PL3, though not very good protection. However, it did jam an older LTI gun(not made anymore) consistently.

Vonkie : Not sure, but call Radar Tech 011 672 0507. He sells them.

Well, it seems that the rear transceiver is good enough, although it has to be mounted correctly and level to the road otherwise it is useless.

Still waiting to have my twin rear jammers tested. Todays weather isnt great, so maybe tom...

Ok guys, I had my twin rear transceivers tested yesterday. The laser gun used was the LTI Ultralyte 20-20. Also, it was raining and overcast. The distance was from about 0 – 150m (0 – 500ft). We started targeting the rear from about 10m (32ft)

The transceivers did an impressive job… we couldn’t get a reading anywhere on the rear…. Even I had a go, and no reading anywhere. It gave E-01 error a few times. I was quite excited that the rear transceivers are jamming well.

Overall impressed and would recommend anyone to try this.

Vonkie: And what did they say? How much?

Here are pics showing twin rear laser jammers on a Escort shifter ZR3.

First of all the spilt connection to the interface module.

Then the installation of the additional transceiver.

They work like a dream... but they have to be mounted level to the road for complete effectiveness otherwise they render themselves useless.

I hope Escort will release an update for the ZR3... maybe take on the Laser Atlanta Stealth mode... maybe they have something bigger in store... who knows. Anyone?
