Sorry 'bout that! :o
I truly believe that such risks are personal ones - and that there's honestly no one better equipped to answer those question than you, the end-user of your unique setup.
Look at what I quoted of what I'd said in another thread. It all really depends.
The way I've configured my front and rear plate are also with respect to the prevailing attitudes and perceptions of my local enforcers, and yes, I also took my and my vehicle's profiles (mid-30s Asian male, clean cut - newer/modified "family-sedan" with no tinted windows, and with child-seat in rear, car clean and well-maintained) under consideration, too.
This is a highly variable factor, which not only depends on the laws "as they are written" in your area, but also the many subjective concerns.
Not a problem, my friend. Didn't think you were prying.
Just a quick question for everyone out there:
The NYSP in my area use the Ultralyte LR 100...how effective will a Laser Shield and VEIL'd headlights be against this gun? Will they eventually be able to obtain a speed reading??? Again, I just want to make sure that I won't catch any unwanted attention from the LEO's. I drive a Saturn SL2 sedan (just before the ION came out).

^ You should be buying yourself a little time, particularly if you use good driving practices, and have a good detector.
Radar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR
The VEIL G4 data there is paired with the ZR4, and The VEIL Guy's tests here with the 100 PPS version of that LIDAR seems to both well-correspond with thestaton and happya$$'s data (above) suggest the same:
YouTube - Laser Veil G4 Only vs. LTI 100LR (100pps) on Steve's Civic
....that G4 is stronger against the 100 PPS version, but less so against the 125 PPS variant.
Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
I did see that video on The Veil Guy's YouTube channel already. Good information for sure! VEILing the Laser Shield along with the HL's on happya$$' car did a good job of preventing this gun from getting a reading. Hmmm.......decisions, decisions.
Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
Hi, I am new here and have been reading a lot about everything. Thanks to everyone for the more than infomative info in this site. My question is, what is the logic of buying a laser shield and then painting it with veil? Will the shield not work alone, and if not why buy it? Why not just paint the over the counter plate covers from the local auto parts store. I have 2 laser shields on order right now and some G4. In Oregon plate covers are legal.
Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
^ Pardon this blunt reference, but think of spermicide with a condom...combo can't hurt.
Instead of a lasershield, you may want to consider a photo blur. This way you get the best of both worlds, in the VIS spectrum one can obscure photo enforcement and in the IR Veil will do the job for police laser/photo lidar and IR-imaging systems used in some photo enforcement systems. That's killing two birds with one stone.

Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
Thanks Veil Guy...thats a good idea. I will return the LS covers and go with your idea. So would I need to Veil the photo blur covers as well?
Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
Affirmative.
Here are pictures of a vehicle with such a combination (the first of their kind):
Veil G4 / Anti-Photo Combination
Notice that this plate cover was coated fairly lightly with Veil G4 as to not make it so obvious. Of course you can tailor it to your particular taste.
I'll be interested to see what your findings are.

Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
I haven't put my shields on yet nor have I done my headlamps but I plan on using an airbrush hoping this will give it a cleaner smoother look...
Re: Laser Shield and VEIL
I have been conducting some plate testing as of late (naked plate, clear duct tape, Veil G4, Laser Shield, T3 laser protector cover, different clear plate covers, and combinations thereof). I will be making a separate thread at a later time, but I have found that on appearance alone, the Laser Shield compliments a clear license plate cover coated with Veil G4. The milky white color of the Laser Shield brings out (up) the perceived brightness and counteracts the darkening of the Veil G4 coated license plate cover/plate combo. It's not perfect, but it definitely looks better in my eyes.

This is great stuff, very helpful for someone like me who's about to install the LS's. By chance do you have any pix in the interim of this combo? I will be using an airbrush and was just going to do the LS but perhaps I should try this first?
