He made it look so easy. Just a few horizontal swipes across the top, let gravity draw the product to the bottom of the lens and then brush out the "lines" and "drips'.

No painters tape, just a paper towel to dab up product that you get on the bumper or whatever.

Is it that easy? I read so many posts from guys that are not happy with the foam brush application.

not sure if this the one you talking about this is the one that was done at one of our Houston meets to show how veil helps deflect laser on a car with no transponders hope this helps.

....Still waiting. I read another post about a guy whose application, 24 hours later, was still tacky to the touch. I thought it was his application process. Now, I'm not so sure. I am going to take the advise I gave him. Put a shop light on it...

Not sure why it doesn't dry faster.?
Yep, that was my application process nightmare.

I waited a full 48 hours before i re-intalled the tail lights, and some areas STILL were
a tad tacky....Hope your "hobby" airbrush gets better results, cause i just bought one from Eastwood for $15.99.

I'll be cleaning the veil off the taillights for the airbrush trick tomorrow.

AFineRide- You got pics of yours yet? I'll like to see them.

I will take a few tonight when I get back from meetings. I did two tag plates and they were 90% dry this morning.

Not sure if I can capture the result with flash at night . We'll see.

It must have something to do with the ambient temperature.

There was another poster who said he heated the Veil with a hair dryer for 3-5 minutes before applying with the foam brush.

I may try that technique one more time on a third plate I bought for practice.

I may also wait till it gets a little warmer outside. We are currently at 62d.

Well, Finally dried... Something wrong there. Must be the Temps.

Anyway, it turned out 100% better than the foam brush, however, if you look at the photo carefully, you can see a very faint spotted pattern. Might be the nozzle setting on the sprayer.

Going to try it one more time with less volume out of the nozzle and one more time with the foam brush using another posters suggestion of heating the product first and then barley dipping the edge of the brush with product. Maybe I had too much product on the brush the first time.

PS: This was a SMOKE color plate in the first place.

    That looks GOOD!

I'd say even with the spray pattern, that's 100% better than my brush application.
    Good job!

Finally got some clear weather where I could apply with confidence.

First, used Meguires Cleaner Wax Remover on the lenses. Then Ammonia, then water bath and final rub down with alcohol.

Anyway, did 3 coats with the air brush and I think it turned out pretty good.

No drips and easy to apply. I did a first coat very light. Let it dry for about 45 minutes, then put a shop light to it . Then 30 minutes between coats 2 and 3.

Also got the tag finished. The other thing I noticed is that with the air brush your product USED is minimal. Used maybe 1oz of product for headlights, fogs, tail and tag. 3 coats each.

Blinder should be here next week. That install is going to be a PIA.

Wow... that looks great. I'm going to have to redo my fogs and will do something similar (the Veil looks terrible on my fogs, they were hot and it caused the Veil to dry with sags).
