What is Being Used In California

Some local cops will use K band, but very rare to come across it. Ka is quickly turning into laser so watch out!

I know.... I have to find a way to fix the laser falsing on my infiniti.... I read somewhere you can cover up the beam under the bumber... gonna have to try figuring something out. Driving with LASER is killing me. Im a sitting duck.

Local cops within cities might use K band rarly, but if they do then it probably is in a dense area where the cops are not looking for speeders and are doing other things.


Driving through cali is comfortable. Turn off K and X and you have no falses, and less then a 1% chance of ever having a laser sighting.



Oh and keep in mind, cops around here (not sure about there exactly) are big on pacing and sometimes vascular.

I would disagree about turning off K band completely. As was said earlier, CHP are always Ka but I see many city Pd in fresno using K band. It all depends where you travel so if you are staying on the freeway only then K band turned off might be safe.

Ka and laser on the freeways. Laser is on the upswing ... the local news has been running stories about the CHP's use of it lately. Laser is more common on NorCal than SoCal at present. Beware K band in any town off the freeway. POP and X are not used at all.

Laser is used on freeway 152 (depending how you get from San Jose to San Diego)
