Default What kinda of Radar unit is this?

    http://cmsimg.shreveporttimes.com/ap...ef=AR&MaxW=375

It comes from THIS article in my local paper.
    http://shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs...WS03/707150335

Glad I never drive through this area. That nut has an SKS on the seat!

It was interesting to know he didn't bother to go after a Porsche going 114 mph. So, if you're gonna speed, go REAL fast? Maybe that's why the guy who drove 120 mph with the Cobra never got a ticket.

The online version only has the main article but the entire front section of the paper was devoted to speed traps! Now I know where to slow down!

    Hello,

From what I can see, looks like a Genesis 1 K band.

It is either CO or IO if it is a Decatur Genesis 1. Since it has a front connection for the remote and the Genesis 2 Select has the remote connection in the rear of the unit.

    Take care,

Now I'm all new to discussing the radar units themselves. Kinda neat that you guys are into all this. What's that switch he's got his hand on? Would that imply he's using it as IO?

The one good thing about the article was he said he allows 15 over. Of course, he could just be trying to soften his image OR he could be one of those guys who'll tag you the instant you pass the speed limit sign...

LOL, he didn't even bother with the Porsche So, for that town at least, make sure you have a car that appears faster than whatever he is driving. Then again, there is always the possibility that me might use the rifle on one of the tires

Lol, in all honesty, I wouldn't mind this guy for my chief of police! His town is a little bedroom community of Shreveport where everyone moves to get out of the crime. Supposedly, he's pretty fair.

    Hello,

I am guessing he has the remote mounted down there. Used for putting the unit in CO or IO , locking the speed or unlocking the unit.

Go to the Decatur Radio site and take a peep at them. Then there are sites for most of the other main manufacters. Kustom / Stalker / MPH.

I like his SKS on the floor. Then I'd rather have a carbine AR15 instead.

    Take care,
