I had a real X-band encounter in Naples.....
It was a rent-a-cop unit in a gated community.:D
X band could easily come back since so many people turn x off on their rd. Be careful doing this and make 100% sure x isn't used. If it's not used in your "general" area, then turn it off. But when you galibat outside of your general area especially in some small podunk town that may have a local cop/county sherriff running x band, you may think twice about turning x band back on when traveling. These people don't care about the fact x band may not be on the books in Florida, they will use it regardless if it's on the books or not, THEY DON'T CARE PEOPLE! My advice, be careful.
My ix is the scout for my area. With the falses locked out and many miles every day in my work vehicle, I get to see how the LEO's operate.
If you are going through NJ, you will find a lot of X band.
If you are going through NJ, you are also taking the long way home!
Safe trip.
