Re: North Carolina speeding laws/license suspension question
These NC DMV rules only apply for people with a NC drivers license. And what really sucks for people with a NC drivers license is the NC DMV apply the same rules when a person with a NC drivers license gets a ticket outside of NC. This is why a North Carolina drivers license is the worst drivers license to have in the entire country. No other state drivers license issuing agencies in the USA have rules this harsh.
It's not that bad for us if we got busted in NC. If we get convicted in NC for more than 15 over or in excess of 75mph the NC court sends the conviction to your home state drivers license agency so the NC DMV rules don't apply to us, your home state rules for out of state convictions apply. Worse thing for us if we get a ticket in NC that requires a mandatory court appearance. If you get a mandatory court appearance ticket in NC you have to show up for court in NC or hire an attorney to appear for you. Since we do not have a NC drivers license, the NC court has the authority to suspend our privilege to drive in NC only. Again, the NC DMV suspension rules don't apply since we don't have a NC drivers license.

We just voted OUT our Lib-Dem mayor in Greensboro, Good riddance.:)
When I send correspondance to the state legislators I usually at least get an acknowledgment. The snobby EX-Mayor couldnt even do that.
Re: North Carolina speeding laws/license suspension question
I don't know how I lasted in that state... especially if you knew how I drive. The very first day I moved to Miami I got a FL license... it was like a HUGE weight being lifted off my shoulders. I went from 15 over = mandatory suspension to 30 over = mandatory visit to court with no suspension (however, now in FL 50 over equals suspension :( )

Good job. Now if we could just get rid of the ones in Raleigh that keep this crap on our sholders ($30.00 car inspections) we would be better off by far.

Passed a few new silver unmarked Chargers on I-85 today. They had their blue lights flashing with customers in a construction zone. Now we have some new cars to look out for. :(
