Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
This is what I find amazing there are NO Ka false at all whatsoever. If you here a beep that means slow down. When you are from the city like me, this putts a big smile on my face no False alerts. Since I see only 34.7 or 34.9 something I serioulsy thinking about turning off 33.8 and leave 34.7 and 35.5 ON and let V1 sniff out everything else.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
This was 4 years ago , just past Albany , 87N , one mile before
the psl returns to 65 ....no alert on the v-1 ...but
a nice bite thanks to Lti .
So perhaps they change their tactic since :
on my last trip this summer , I saw no laser but Ka , mobile
rear/front/stationary , and few K stationary.
But I would not discount laser ...if you are jammerless
why take chance ?
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
There is a hiding spot near peru/plattsburgh ny area on I-87 North that almost always has cops running KA.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
I haven't encountered laser on the Thruway as far as I know. Lots of Ka band radar though.

Watch out for this one - In Peru under an overpass. It will be after the Valcour rest stop on the northbound side just at the end of some apple fields. They use I/O and its deadlier than laser.
Also look out for the sherriff in Essex County - I have seen them pull over People on the Northway twice this summer. They are using K band in an SUV - and once I saw them near the construction speed signs that also use K band.
My two only laser tickets were on I-87 (many years ago from a 20/20) - Laser north of Glens Falls is rare but it does happen. I would be more concerned with an ambush from i/o from the woods or other hiding spots as there are quite a few I have seen and marked.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
I was going up to Fishkill last night. On the TAconic I encountered Ka C/O from my 8500 (non-x50). Sorry forgot where though... Wanted to take I87 back home but GPS took me back another way. Sorry..
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
I just can't stop laughing at what you said Andrew2,1 because I was on South I 87 heading to NYC my GPS said there was traffic later on in my travel so it took me to the Taconic Parkway where I never been on before in my life. To tell you the truth its not a bad Parkway only two lanes and the Speed limit is 55 which sucks but other than that traffic flows pretty well. I actually got stop on the Taconic today my BEL STIR and V1 went crazy on KA 34.6somthing, I slow down in time but what he said he pull me over for my Tints (LOL who would of thought). I knew it had to be something else because I wasn't speeding. Sucks it actually my BDAY today but a Tint Ticket is a whole lot better than a speeding ticket.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
OH yeah by the way if you Travel Upstate offten on I 87 I have learn that for now at least unless something else changes you really don't need a Laser Jammer for I 87 all exclusively KA 34.6 or 34.7. I have learn from my trip to Canada and back that the BEL STIR have to be remove from behind my plastic grill because I have a feeling it is effecting with the alert on my BEL STIR there was a bit of times the V1 alert before and everything I have watch on video and heard is that the BEL STIR should be so far ahead of the V1 on 34.7 that it will bow my mind basically today nothing really blow my mind when you compare the two detectors.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
Is the Taconic full of LEOs? I live in Western CT not too far away from the Taconic. CT is almost all laser these days and i'm getting tired of not running into radar. I might just take a drive out there to see if my RD can sniff out any LEO.
Re: Has Anyone Ever run into Laser on North I 87
I have only ran into one LEO when I was there well actually there was two but I think he was a State Trooper he pull someone over on the side road or service road . When your up by Albany I wouldn't worry to much even when you get closer to the city I would be careful but wouldn't worry. I think I actually fell in love with that Parkway.
