Houston Jammer Meet

Hi everyone, first-time poster here :) After speaking with Aphex4000 through email (who has been super helpful and very friendly) he gave me some great advice to post here and become a member of the community. A little about myself (though I'm not that interesting)- I'm currently a grad student and drive an 05 Accord.

I just received a V1 and I'm going to pair it up with the ZR4. It seems like I'm getting a good deal on it but I was wondering if anyone on here would feel comfortable installing it for me (and of course I will pay you). I rather give the business to a hardcore enthusiast who knows the unit and has experience with it then a shop who might not care nearly as much.

If anyone can help me that would be wonderful! Please post here or message me.

Also, I hope to make it to the next meet. You guys seem awesome and all of this is pretty fascinating haha. Thanks again!

Do not get the ZR4

lol Snoopy just taught me exactly that.. Im going with the LI Dual now haha. I just cant afford the install anymore because I was getting the ZR4's at $500 installed and the LI's are $500 shipped =/

But yeah, no ZR4's anymore after I saw some results from GuysofLidar thanks to Snoop.

You will be thanking him many times over for convincing you otherwise.

The LIs are well worth it. And not a hard install either. Youll be happy with them.

What side of town do you live?

I have had M27 blinders installed for about a year now but have never tested them. I was wondering if there is anyone north Houston around Woodlands area that could test my install. I missed the meet and wasn't sure how long I would have to wait for a new one.

I would like to attend a meet in march the 22-27.me take a vacation.

That would be cool. If it were on the 26th then I'd try to make it down from Oklahoma for that.

I believe this one would be in Houston as their meets are a bit larger than ours. How does March 12th or 19th sound for the next Dallas meet? Those would be the first and last weekends of my Spring Break so I could plan around one of those.

Lone Star Region Porsche Club of America is having another Performance Driving School on March 5th, 2011 at the Houston Police Academy. This is open to all licensed drivers. Cost is VERY cheap. 18 and under even cheaper. This is 8 hours of learning how to control YOUR car in VERY safe environment. Instructors will ride with you during all drills.

It is an AWESOME experience for everyone. NO YOU DO NOT NEED TO OWN A PORSCHE. There will be all sorts of vehicles there.

That sounds awesome! Thanks for the info!

Cars will have to go through a tech inspection. So make sure you have no active leaks, tires have good amount of tread, torque your lug nuts, check your tire presure, and all lose objects left at home (or bring a bag to leave them in). This include floor mats, baby seats, and V1s. They don't want anything flying around in the car or trunk.

Painfully "Bones" my current vehicle won't qualify for any kind of autocrossing. Since I've gone back to school and liquidated all my assets to pay for my school and living expenses until I graduate I'm driving very basic transportation. However, when I get done and re-employed I hope to cash out a nice investment I've had going and get something special. So, it's good to know when these kind of events come up. Thanks for sharing :)

Just letting the Houston folks know, that by this Friday I should have a PL3 if anyone wants to test their setups. Especially folks up here in the North part of the Houston Metro area. Once I get it in, I have to find out how it performs. Especially due to the fact that there are no quarantees coming from fleebay!

I sure wouldn't have a problem hooking them up once I feel confident in how my PL3 performs once I get it this Friday. Hopefully they still check the forum out and send me a PM.

i got two spots to add..
1. stealth white crown vic.. barely visible letters POLICE on the sides.. strobes on the inside.. i think you have a pic of it snoop
running LIDAR on the northbound side of 45 at night.. this is the 3rd time i seen him this week so im guessing this is his area now. which is from 610 till the beltway
the first time i saw him was in my rearview as i was pulling over :mad:
2. 2 moto leos running lidar on the feeder of 45 going south (around 3-5 pm??) before tidwell i believe.. they are parked in an old church's parking lot and just pick out cars on the feeder.. :eek:

NOTE: You should probably post this in the Houston Cop-Spotting thread.

These moto units working the feeder also shoot on I-45 South just before the Airport exit. Same deal. They sit on a side lot and shoot cars on the feeder then walk out and wave the violators over. Stealth Charger works the Southbound side just after Broadway.
