    Default Problem with my GPSMirror

I recieved my gpsmirror yesterday, and updated immediately to the newest firmware. It is installed and functional, however, when I try to access the main menu using button 1, I get either a runthrough of all the voice warnings or a constant solid tone. When I get the tone, the only way to stop it is to power cycle the mirror. Am I doing something wrong, or is the mirror defective? Thanks in advance.

If you are getting a run through of all the alerts, you're keeping the button pressed down for too long. Pressing and holding down button 1 puts the unit into demo mode.

Just press it once normally and release it straight away.

Never heard anyone get a solid tone before.

Well, I got off work and played with it some more. There is definately something wrong. If I press and release button 1 it locks up with a solid tone. I tried it while driving, I was going 52mph when I pressed the button, and it stayed on that reading till I got home, with the constant beep. I even cycled my v1 while it was doing it to see if the radar detector signals would come through, and they didn't. Also, if I press any of buttons 2-4, it says "City mute on", then "City mute off". Not sure if this is normal. I am going to try reflashing tonight if it is possible, and see what happens tomorrow. Thanks again for the continued help.

EDIT: BTW, other than the menu problems, it functioned flawlessly coming in from Palo Verde on I-10 east into Phoenix. It alerted me to all three new cameras, and the positions were dead on. Really impressive product.

Try wriggling the button a bit without pressing it in. Its possible that a bit of plastic flashing is causing the button to slightly stick? Just a thought.

You want to get that sent back to Cheetah USA. You don't have to go through your retailer for a warranty replacement, you can send it back direct to Cheetah USA in Gilbert, with proof of purchase and they'll look after you.

Please include a fault description with your package, because I want to get that one back to the UK because I've never heard of that at all before.

Ok, I tried reflashing it twice, once each on two different computers, and the same thing each time. I purchased this from needfultoyz through ebay, so I have no proof of purchase. Do you still want me to send it to you guys, or should I pursue this with needfultoyz? Heck, if you guys are open on sundays, I would gladly drive it down there.

^ Yep, the Cheetah guys don't mess around with C/S.

It doesn't matter where in the world you are, what language you speed, or what the time-zone difference might be.

They're on the case, ALL THE TIME! I'm convinced that they're rabid fanatics.
