Decisions, decisions.
Got about a week and a half to return the V1 if I do that (and restore the x50 to its place on the windshield).
Had an awesome run-in with Ka on the V today, but I don't see why the x50 couldn't have done that. Not to mention the falsing ... but then there's the arrows! but then there's spec and automute on the x50 ... but then there's the rear antenna! It's one big back-and-forth battle of the detectors.
Grrr ... I hate not being able to decide. Mommy, help.

I just decided to order a V1 being that alot of the tests on here are showing the weakness in some areas of the x50. However I have to say that Ka range on my x50 rev 5 is outstanding and the falsing is minimal which is very nice. However in my persuit to have the best I too am going to try out the V1. After learning today of a nice independent way to mount a mute button to where it can easily be pressed I think the V1 and I are going to get along fairly well. I'm looking forward to hardwiring it above the rearview for a little bit more stealth install along with the remote mount adapter.
What do you like about the V1 and what are you compalints compared to the V1?

Whatever you do keep it on "L" mode aka Avanced Logic. If you do a lot of city driving then the X50 is the choice. If you do a lot of highway driving then the V1 is the choice. Try them both like you are going to and whatever choice you make you cant go wrong with either one of them. They are both good choices

I've disabled X band (south Texas, never had an X run-in), so it's not so much a matter of modes. And yeah, I do spend most of my time in the city, but I can't help but like what the Valentine has to offer.
It's the K nonsense that drives me crazy, like everyone else. While I appreciate that it's not a matter of falsing - it's just really sensitive - it's so ridiculously annoying, and makes me wonder if it's really just excellent detection or just a lack of filtering.

Why not save your pennies and keep both....

Veri,
Ahh that last week and a half before it's all over, don't you wish you could get another month? It goes by so fast. I have the V1 but I am also test driving the X50 but I actually do have two months with that one. (sweet but I am not keeping it)
(Here I go again) You should try the K band automute section in V1 reprograming as it works exactly like X band. JUST TRY IT FOR ONE DAY! I don't understand why everyone dares to try it. If you don't trust it or think you might run into an instant on. All you simply have to do is turn up the muted volume a little that takes all the risk away that some people say is there. (personally I leave my muted volume down)
Seems I am the only veliever of this.

V1 Dave: Do you have a link for the programming on this to set it up? Also did you read what Veil Guy was saying about KU being on and it could be the source for the K band falsing since they are the same tone?
-
K band defiantly has some big time falsing but it is virtually gone with Section 7. Ku is somewhat rare.

thanks for the link. I can see how this would really make it quiet. I see you use the 30 second mode. Do you also use the mode that will enable sound if it breaks the 4 bars? I'm liking the idea of driving in Logic mode with this setup that way I can still see the lights just no sound :)
