Engine Swap, decisions decisions.......

I'm really having a hard time deciding what engine to swap into my car the choices:

STOCK) F22B1: 2.2l 16v I4 SOHC VTEC 145hp, 147 lb-ft

1) H22A-S (JDM): 2.2l 16v I4 DOHC VTEC 220HP, 160lb-ft

or

2) J30A1: 3.0l 24v 60° V6 SOHC VTEC 200Hp, 195lb-ft

Pros and cons

H22 is easier to tune and is a bit lighter than the J30 and I can keep my intake, con is that I need a new ECU and harness (LOTS of work) and cant find one with an Auto tranny

J30 much more torque is a definate plusand decently better milage than the H22 (J30 came in the V6 version of my car)

any input would be cool at this point

How about something that's not a Honda engine so that you can actually get some torque output. :P :P :P

I voted for the H22 but why are you turning your back on the proven B series?

I've helped my roommate from day one on his civic project and its 2 years in the making however almost all the bugs are ironed out.

he's running a jdm b16, 8psi t3t04e, full exhaust, cams, with a neptune ecu tune by jeff evans and he put down 300WHP and 265FT TRQ, and the car only weights around 2600lbs. He has a 95 hatch.

if you are wanting to do something I would suggest you do it right. if that means selling your car to find something that will give you less headache in the long run I'd do that.

572-R the only way to go... 720 horse and 685 lb-ft.

Because a B series wouldnt fit onto my F series mounts, so it would require some custom work, then again so would the J im assuming.
But you might be right, I might start stashing cash away for a 'new' car

That couldnt possibly fit into my engine bay, and besides that wouldnt be made to be mounted transversely

other things that spark my attention: K20A-S, the new K24, 2ZZ-GE (I'd go make it a 2ZZ-GTE our -GZE)(in my brother's 7th gen Celica, he wants a K20A-S), really any good transverse mountable engine not bigger than maybe a 3.5 at the most due to space issues

If you're looking for a good transversley mounted engine, then I would reccomend the Yamaha V6 from the '89-'95 Taurus SHO. I am currently working on swapping one of those into a RWD XR4Ti with twin turbos. They are GREAT engines, and they put out 220 hp bone stock.

Yeah but I trust engines in fords as far as I can throw um... but Yamaha sounds good, I liked what they did with Toyota's 1ZZ-FE to make my brother's 2ZZ-GE

I hate Civics too especially the idiots that think theirs is so dang fast, but Honda is good stuff in some aspects
