this ever happend to you?

so i was going to cub in lakeville, off cedar for you minnesotans, anyway so i was pulling up to the entrance my 955 started to go nuts on k-band so i assumed it was an atomatic door opener so as i was coming up to this white buick i noticed he had a detector mounted smack dab in the middle of his windshield. i knew it had to be a cobra! so as i approched him (he was pulled over to the side) i rolled down my passenger window and with my 955 screming it's ass off i asked what kind of detector is that? he said i quote "ah its a sweet COBRA xrs.... got it at best buy for like $89 bucks". wow

never had a Cobra set off my X50's K-band, Cobras only set off my POP sensor (which I dont have on haha :lol: :wink: :lol: :D :lol: )..........I must say people that have Cobras and think that theyre the 'best' and speed past me and my X50 with their Cobra pointed at a 45 degree angle to the sky (how can you see the display at that point???) are the idiots, those that realize that its a cheaper budget-minded ticket detector are ok in my book though (not every RD enthusiast is fortunate enough to have a Top3/4..... or dont care enough to spend the extra dough)..........

But to answer your question.....no that hasnt happened to me......... id think it would be a motion sensor of some sort (for a security system nearby)

I've gotten K alerts from at least a dozen cobra, RS, and RMR units. Normally at either 24.050 or 24.069, 24.089 or 24.250.

I got this car that sits parked at the top of the hill every morning and he has his crapola ON all the time and I get a good K band distance all the time. I drove right up to his car and my V-1 was full out K band.....lol

Yeah, I hate cheap detectors too they always end up giving me POP alerts. That's the main reason why I turned it off. I'm sure it's really hard for Escort to make the detectors more sensitive because of all the leaky detectors on the road.

The way I look at it, Cobra's are aimed at the right type of person. I mean who buys a detector and mounts it pointing at the sky. Most Cobra owners are idiots.........
