Bah. In the real world, the X50 is better over hills and around corners on Ka than the V1. At least the two I tested anyway. That's nearly 3 years of X50 and 7 months of V1 testing by a chronic speeder. The X50 is still in my car, the V1 is somewhere in Kansas.Quote:

Get them both and test them yourself. You get a 30 day trial on each, right?Quote:

WTF is the deal with the foam........... nevermind
just for the foam theyre basically saying that this isnt anywhere close to real, just an experiment of sorts is how I see it, they even got a disclaimer in there saying something like that
Some things I find interesting:
1) Note the straight-line 33.8GHz test, one V1 did TONS better than the other one
2) the curve for OVER THE HILL 34.7 is pretty flat all the way down (save for the wireless thing)
3) NOBODY picked off the POP test over the hill
I personally will dismiss this test because THEY say it big and bold "THIS IS NOT REAL WORLD" and that it'll never happen out on the streets
My real world experience is that my orignal 8500 spanks my X50 in Ka 35.5 detection and the GOL test confirms that. Ever since I bought my X50 I knew it was not as good as my orignal 8500 on 35.5.
IMO, the GOL over the hill test was the best real world test yet.
but theres still that foam box......Quote:

No foam in the GOL overhill test. Foam was only used for the straight on test to reduce the radar strength. There were 2 different test sites.Quote:

right I edited my post after reading further right before you posted......... that was my bad.......... but the fact is all situations will be different, because there are diferent hills, presence of other traffic, trees (or lack thereof), stuff like that, but i can believe those results....... again to a degreeQuote:

The only downfall I see, is where I live all of the leo use Ka in the 33.8 range and unless I am on a straight road, I get less 10-15 seconds of warning.
I got nabbed with instant on in VA but nothing can protect you against that. I am more afraid of that then lidar.
