Only person in town with a RD that isn't a Crapra...

So, I'm the only person in my small (6k people) town that uses something outside of a Cobra RD. This poses a problem. When I had my Cobra, I didn't get a single look from the cops because they've seen em and know they're horrible so they don't care. Now, I get long stares at my V945 on my windshield. They aren't illegal here in Georgia, but I dislike the attention it brings being "different". I'd mount it on the visor, but I've yet to find a good way to mount it upside down, since the visor mount doesn't let you flip it (Why it wasn't designed inverted baffles me). Any tips?

The only way I could see to mount it upside down would be with velcro on the visor. I'm not willing to do that yet.

Why not mount it high and hardwire it?

Or even use the visor and still hardwire it under the trim and dash. VERY worthwhile...and takes only minutes!

I'm going to hardwire it for sure, I just don't know where yet. And yeah, maxima, I thought about doing that...but I really doubt the velcro will hold it on my cloth covered visor...and I don't need a RD falling in my lap every 5 minutes.

I don't like the visor mount, because I like to have access to the buttons at all times, since I run dim mode during the day and dark as soon as the sun goes down. Not to mention the fact that my headliner blocks some of the front of the RD while on the visor mount (but wouldn't if it were mounted upside down).

Still debating what to do. Mounting it high isn't easy in an S-10. And before someone thinks "S-10?! why do you need a RD?" Well, it's a first gen that I've restored with a few customizations of my own. :twisted:

Yes, I'm worried about the velcro not holding up as well.

I can access my buttons, but I have to pull the radar down a little. It does make it a pain. I run the display the same way you do.

I have an older S10 as well and the thing is extreamly lightt. Pretty easy to make them quick.
