Front license plates in Texas, what gives?

This started out as a question to jr C6 on the jammer thread then I decided it should have it's own topic.

For those of you that are driving in Texas, how are you running with no front plate? I've gotton slammed several times for not having one. Including a rather angry Webster LEO that threatened to arrest me if he saw me driving through town again with no front plate.

In August HPD gave me a ticket for no front plate. So now when I appear in March the court has demanded photo documentation that the front plate has been installed. I have never seen a C6 running a front plate and I'm not excited about drilling holes in the nose of my car. I really would like to blow this off but I think I'm going to have to install it or risk getting more attention from LEOs with a bit in their teeth to ticket on this offense.

Any other Texans been harrassed about this?

TX is extremely strict about running the front plate

A lot of States want it on. For Traffic enforcement of easy of ID-ing a vehicle.

You'll hear them all.

Got a warning but that was it

you could phtoshop a plate on for court. In NY my mom runs here XK8 jag with no front plate and she has never been stoped. But i think that it is because that is an old woman car and a corvette yells speeding.

Really? I mean my dad bought a car from TX from a dealer and it didn't even have a front plate :lol:

in terms of all that the government is pretty hands-off in Texas, sure the cops are there, but its hit-or-miss, theyre either Hitler-like Nazis, or theyre really nice people

and Im also in DFW, no front plate for about a year or so, no problems at all......... ive parked in front pof cops standing around drinking coffee and eatin doughnuts and they didnt even say a word, if they cared, they'd have atleast said something

that was Ford Focus 05 before he got banned. First they were giving him H@LL for a jammer then went to his liscence plate and the cover.
