When my auto door locks go from lock to unlock, or if I honk the horn, move my power mirrors, etc. I get a laser indication. Anyone else have this, if so, what is the fix?????

Check the software version. My guess it is not 6.1. I had that problem in one of my older X50's.
How to check the software:
Hold the Mute, HWY, and Dim buttons while powering on the unit.
*** This will erase everything you have programmed and return it to factory default. ***
likely a bad ground. Wire the unit to the fuse box and get a good ground. Cigarette lighter plugs in general are not good grounds. It is a rare problem but i have heard of it
Had that same problem with my V1.
It ended up being a weak battery. Basically, whenever there was another source drawing power, it caused a voltage drop and the V1 alerted to laser. Replaced the battery and problem solved.

Why would you say "8500, not x50"? They are one thing I thought.
The 8500 came before the 8500 X50 just like the 7500 came before the 8500.Quote:

Thanks!
You can go and look at these manuals and see which models came before the other.Quote:

I read that putting your X50 on Auto mode increases the distance.
Well...What if you run yours on High Way all the time?
Auto does not INCREASE the distance, Auto will knock down X band sensitivity. Auto is used to help to cut down on alerts due to door openers.Quote:
