V1 Start up
V1 forum members:
When my V1 powers up, towards the end of the power up cycle, the 7th led light in the strength meter does not light up with the other led's. Can anyone confirm that their V1 does the same thing?
If it is normal, anyone know why it does that?
Thanks.

That often occurs if you have option 5 programmed to more sensitive.

What is option 5?

Option 5 "down" makes the Ka signal strength indicator ramp up quicker. Of course that is only if your detector has been reprogramed from factory settings. If your detector has been reprogramed you should see it display "P" in the bogey counter during start up. Reffer to this site for additional info on reprogramming.

The LED's provide status info at power-up, depending on how it is programmed:

A guy made a chart here, but the image is down. Maybe someone has it on their drive, or could email the guy:

There's been some recent confusion about a "P" showing on start-up. POP is a programming option "on" by default, and if it is the only option you disable then no "P" appears on start-up on a 3.826. The only result is that P-O-P does not scroll through on the display. So you know it is disabled, and an option changed, but no "P" appears as a result.
