I'm familiar with RDs and the strategy one uses with them (been running with a V1 for 5 years now); however, I'm looking to get a laser jammer.
Can anyone point me to information on how a laser jammer works? Like does it send out the jamming beam the whole time or only when it picks up a LIDAR signal? What kind of strategies do you need to employ when operating one (i.e. when do you hit the kill switch, etc.)?
Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks.
All the "new" ones only send out a jamming signal when they detect a laser signal. I think some of the older ones sent out a continuous signal, but those things are old.
As for what to do, it is highly encouraged, for the sake of the community, to shut off the jammer once you've reached PSL. Enough people do JTG, and LEOs will start doing harder to detect tactics (shots from behind, over pass, etc)
X2^. if LJs are illegal where you are you have to do this anyway so as not to announce to the LEO that you have one.
if they are not illegal JTG is a good way of getting them banned which ruins it for everyone.
this may sound stupid but what does JTG stand for?
