Blinder M25 Against the Kustom PL3, LTI Ultralyte LR Rev. 2

Today Me & C55 do a few test run with my Blinder M25 against the Kustom PL3, LTI Ultralyte LR Rev. 2. When I was using the Kustom PL3 it punch through at 386 feet the target point was about 1800 feet. The LTI Ultralyte LR Rev. 2. Did the same. When C55 was using the Kustom PL3 it punches through at 600 feet he said. I would say 600 feet and below you have to be real carefully with the Blinder M25.

I used the Kustom PL3 on C55 AMG with the Laser Interceptor I could not get a reading with both laser Guns. The Laser Interceptor JTG all the way.

I am seriously thinking of get the Laser Interceptor. But I will wait until I see the 08 GOL Test Review.

What kind of car do you have. Also make sure your Blinder heads are perfectly level. With that being said I am not surprised at your results.

I have Black 2000 BMW 323i and yes the Blinder M25 Heads are level to the road. Like I side before I will wait for the GOL 08 test result to see how all the others laser jammer performs. Before I get the Laser Interceptor.

I, and many others too, am anxiously waiting for GOL 08! The delay was, I believe, the anticipated releases of both the Escort ZR4 as well as the PASS.

With all the contestants now available, the match should be slated for the next couple of weekends as it's getting hot here in Florida and must be scorching in The Desert SW!

I, as the new North America Rep. for LI, would love to attend to cheer on all the competitors!

I recently ran some tests using a brand new LTI Ultralyte LRB against
my 2003 Black BMW M5 with an M25. The results were disturbing.

The last several encounters with Lidar here have been at a range of
about 500 ft. At that range, the M25 gives you very little time to slow
down.

At 80 mph your moving at 117 ft / sec. If it takes you 1 second to start
to decelerate and another second to reduce your speed to 65, that's
a distance of 235 ft. before your legal. To save you, the M25 would have
to JTG to at least 500 - 235 = 265ft.

In every test, I get PT long before 265ft. Other tests posted here show
similar results with the M25 suffering PT.

I'm now thinking of adding a single LPP head to the front
end to use with the M25 system -or- removing the M25 and installing a
dual LPP or LI system.

Hopefully the GOL 08 tests will help me decide which one to go with.

Obviously I am not an objective poster but LED based jammers suffer from this issue. Go with a tested Diode system and you will have much better protection. GOL 08 should be happening any weekend now. The results will allow you to make a well informed purchasing decision as to which system(s) to select amongst. Perhaps the improved Alogarithms in the LED based ZR4 will suffice.

Yes, I've read several posts here and from other sources about LED vs Diode
systems. I guess I was hoping the M25 would work well in my specific
case. That was my reason for acquiring the Ultralyte. I figured there is no
real way to know other than measuring your car, with your install in situations you
know you'll encounter. For me, the M25 is not sufficient.

Yes, testing is the only way. I have a 100LR, a PL3 as well as a newly acquired 08 Model LA Speedlaser II with Stealth and extended range, 7,000 ft. and have tested several systems. The LED based systems perform better than no system at all but just not enough to give peace of mind or what we call JTG and JFG. I am anxiously awaiting the GOL 08 tests to see how the newcomers to the market fair against the already established field of systems.

Based on current data (albeit qualitative only) from a variety of sources, I would not advise running the Blinder in-conjunction-with any other active jammer, not towards a single "face"/aspect of the vehicle.

My current hypothesis is that the unique physical construct of the Blinder heads, with an IR-transparent forward portion, allows too much "light spill" to be seen by adjacent jammer heads, and thus elicits untoward cross-talk.

Sorry you got hosed by Blinder. I shouted on my soap box until I was blue in the face.
