8500 X50 Questions.

i just got mine 8500 x50 yesterday, it is a 2 and a half years unit. I just tried it this morning, 2 different cops are in front of me but my RD still did not pick up any signal. What is the problem with that? I did not even pick up a lot of X or K or KA band, only like in a weak signal. What should i do? another question is how do i set up to expert mode? and should i use C or H instead of A? i am using Auto all the time right now. My friend told me is not working because the cops did not turn on the radar. But can anyone else help me? sorry for being a newbie but i did tried to search but seems cannot find an answer for me. thanks for helping.

Nothing, its a radar detector not a Cop detector.

I its in "A" or "C" it will filter falses "H" mode doesn’t.

Its in the settings mode.

I use "H" or "A" mode all the time, you will have to decide which you like.

He’s right, if his radar is not on the X50 wont alert.

If your concerned something’s wrong send it to Escort to get it updated/fixed.

Try a reset by holding down the two program buttons and then turning on your X50.

A question for you, I saw you sell car parts, is there a chip/programmer for an 04 Acura TL?

not chip or programmer, but i can ask and get it for you cheaper than retail.

To do a full reset you need to hold down all 3 buttons and the turn on the RD.
