A final "thanks" to the 73-Pro

just got home from team softball and a short visit at the local pub. Got in the PT and started the car. Ka-3 with the Whistler 73. Knew something was not right. It kept this on and off as a left the parking lot. Got on the main road 1/5 mile goes up to 5-6 bars. Slow to 45mph (speed limit) and drive another 1/8 mile there they are 2 median LEO's running ka quota night (end of the month). I had to give my Whistler a love rub even though it's being retired.

I could not tell it 'replaced'. It was a really sweet save and will keep it as a nice backup. Valentine One will be here Thursday.

I guess you are aware that newer V1 owners are reporting reduced sensitivity when their beloved V1s are used during hot days; some are resorting to fans and ac vents blowing on the V1 in an attempt to correct the problem.

Not my idea of how a top end RD is suppose to function....

You got that crap from Craig Peterson who is a paid shill that works for Belscort or Escotronics by bashing the V1 on his crappy site RadarTestes.com.

Guess what the STi did in the heat too according to him. Looks like it is time to throw away the STi as well because this isn't how it is supposed to function.

Actually this is exactly the way Bel and Escort radar detectors are supposed to function. The VCO circuitry which self-calibrates to tune the radar detector is designed to operate correctly throughout the normal operating temperature range of the radar detector. If the detector is way too cold or way too hot (outside the design's operating temperature range), then the VCO circuitry by design can't adjust the voltage enough in order to properly tune the radar detector. Then a Self Calibration or Service Required message is shown to let the user know that the radar detector is either way too hot or way too cold.
