9500ix newbie

Hey everyone,

After much research, I purchased a 9500ix from the Escort website. I received it today.

When I saw the package sitting on my doorstep when I got home my first thought was, "that's awfully small." When I picked it up I thought, "Damn, that's heavy."

:D

After opening it I was impressed with the build quality.

I've registered it but haven't installed it yet. I intend to use it in our cars and on my motorcycle. I haven't figured out how I will mount it on the bike though.

I do have a couple of issues and will be calling Escort in the morning. Anyway, I thought I'd drop a line here to kinda sorta introduce myself.

Well for mounting on the motorcycle I would suggest

Motorcycle Mounts : Motorcycle Radar Detectors - Shop at Radar Busters

There should have been a signature required, not left on the porch for theives to snag.

Issue #1 - The Escort site advertises a trade-in allowance. The site says:

Purchase any new Escort Radar Detector and add the Escort Online Trade
In Program to your shopping cart before you check out. Everything you need
to process your Trade In will be included with your shipment.

Trade In, Trade Up, or Pull Over - Escort Inc.

When I added the 9500ix to my cart the trade in option didn't appear. So I also added an 9500i and the trade in showed up. I deleted the 9500i and the trade in was still there. However it didn't show up on the order confirmation. I immediately emailed Escort asking about it but I haven't received a reply. It's been a few days so I will call them in the morning.

Issue #2 - I thought I added the 3yr Gold package but I guess I didn't. I wasn't charged and it doesn't appear on my invoice. I want to see if I can add it after the sale.

Nothing really major, just a couple of minor inconveniences.

I was expecting a yellow tag on the door (it was shipped UPS), but they left it on the doorstep. The box is small and the driver did leave it off to one side but, yeah, anyone could have just walked up and taken it.

Thankfully there was any large logos on it to draw attention to it.

I was actually home when UPS came to my door step. They still left it on my door step. I have a camera system and was curious if he set it down or just dropped it. Thankfully he set it down.

So you didn't receive it yet,:dontknow: wow, UPS must of lost it. :evil:I would call Escort and complain that it hasn't gotten to you yet so they will get UPS to buy you another one. :deal: :evil: :victory:
