I had my 1997 V1 installed on the driver's side visor in my old 1998 Accord. I used the wire tap supplied with the V1 and tapped into the lighter socket in the car so that the V1 would turn on and off when the car did. I ran the straight wire under the steering wheel and ran it up the pillar so no wires were visible. Good luck!

The other option is to use a fuse tap and run the wire from the fuse box since the fuses are conveniently located on either side of the dash. It took me maybe 10 minutes to install in my 2002.

In my 98 coupe I tapped into the map light assy.
Don't be afraid of it running down your battery, I had my Cobra hardwired there for two years before I got my V1. COLD WINTERS too

This weekend I tapped into my cig lighter wire, since its a switched circuit. It took about 10 minutes to do it and no wires show - its all nicely tucked away like the other wires in the car. The panels pop off easily, so this is an easy install. The black V1 hardwire connector was mounted (using the velco-style tape that comes with it) on the underside of the glove box. This is easy to access when the passenger side knee panel is removed.
The V1 is mounted high over the rearview mirror, with wires concealed in the A pillar and roof line. Will post some pics sometime soon.

I posted in the thread that you started. It's pretty straight-forward to do it from the fuse blocks.
