Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
Most of the time when i pass a Tx Dps with a customer coming toward the rear of his car i get a full Ka alert only within 2-9 feet passing by and he is out of his crown vic. This has been a mystery to me on Brief Ka alerts passing Dps when most of the time there units are off or on HLD. Some V1 owners have reported a brief X band alert before I/O attack. I also have been next to a Dps at a gas station and watched him start up his car and his radar started and kicked on to HLD and i got brief Ka blips in his start up mode. I believe they do not carry Ka hand held guns just Stalker LZ1 lidar that would give off a Ka alert. I have looked for other Rd's in the customers cars and there were no Cobras,PNI,Safety alert Rd's on the windshield. I don't see very many hardwired Rd's. I'm going to get some video of this once i get the chance. I run Filter 2 all the time and pop off

I hope I don't sound arrogant, I don't want to, but is there a question in there?

Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
:D
Re: Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
Are they using the DSR 2X? If not, then it is not equipped with Rear Traffic Alert. Even if it is a DSR 2X, the Rear Traffic Alert senses rapidly approaching vehicles, but that does not imply that the signal being transmitted from the radar is any different.

Maybe they are using the same radar antenna as the new handheld Stalker II is using. If they are, even my V1 is having serious problems detecting these bad boys. I'd expect that your less sensitive Pro78 would struggle mightily to detect them. My V1 missed an I/O shot from this gun at less than 4 blocks away. This new low powered antenna is changing the game, I promise you.

Re: Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
X2, if you are approaching an officer from the rear who is using the feature, his antenna will be operating normally and you should receive a full alert on your detector.
So, if you are receiving poor Ka warning, it is likely because of something else. For example, if he is running his front antenna and you approach him from the rear, you are relying on reflections to detect him, and will probably get a short alert.
Re: Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
Ya it looks like Stalker II is the new hot item for the new year. Looks like all Rd manufactures are goin to have to up the db's on Ka 34.7 for the new year. Now its not only 35.5 its 34.7 too  I wonder how long it will be before Tx upgrades.
Re: Stalker rear traffic alert leak ?
Is what I have noticed is that if they are running radar stationary, once they've got a potential violator pinpointed and they begin pursuing the vehicle, they will switch over to the front antenna and shoot a blast of radar AGAIN to get another speed reading. This will reduce your range because, like was said earlier, you're relying on reflections.

No. The LEO was targeting either me directly or the car that passes me, probably both of us actually, at about 0:43 of the video. The gun was definitely pointed in my direction. If you'll notice, there's just us 2 cars on the road at that point. There's no one else the target could have been.
