I just got a 9500ix. I called Escort to order and asked if my 8500x50's direct wire smart cord would be OK and got a yes.
So today I got an alert and hit the mute button on the cord and was asked if I would like to mark it. Huh!
Is this the norm?

1st time you press mute it will silence the alert
2nd time you press mute it will ask you if you want to mark location ?
3rd time you press mute it will confirm marked location and mark that location as "stored".
you may have a sensitive or worn mute botton from use over time or even accidentaly hit the mute twice and got the "mark location ?" prompt.
Thanks,
I just finished tossing in the latest updates, software and locations and went through the options setting it up to my preferences.
I must say the manual gives me dyslexia. Maybe it's just me but it seems really scattered and I can never remember how return to a section to review it.
But while I was setting up in D-tools I found a setting that toggles the marking function at the smart cord. I cannot find it again to save my life.
Anytime, dont worry being apart of this forum will answer every question you could ever have in regards to RD's or any other countermeasures.
Good Deal:)
I've heard the same same thing, im thinkin about getting a v1 :zombie3: in the future so we'll see.
You must turn off the auto learn feature to use the smart cord to manually lock out false locations. With auto learn off pressing the smartcord mute 3 times locks out a false location. With auto Learn on pressing the smartcord mutes 1st press and then Goes into Marking the location and not locking out a false.
