Time for Belscort prices to decrease!!
Back in July Belscort raised their prices across the board.
While they never came out with a reason why, it would be safe to assume that the rising Canadian dollar/falling US dollar affected their profit margins.
Remember, Belscorts are made in Canada (labor/materials costs in Cdn $) and sell in US dollars.
However, in the past few months the Canadian dollar has fallen from par with the USD, to about $.80 USD This means that Belscort is gaining about 25% on the currency exchange rate. (For every $100 expense in Canada, it only translates to $80 USD on the books.)
So, how about a price decrease. (I know, wishful thinking...)

Hope you brought your:popcorn:
I am still waiting for grocery prices to drop. Nearly everything that increased in price was said to have been caused by the rise in fuel cost. Where I live, it has dropped to nearly 1/3 of what it was a few months ago. What gives?
Re: Time for Belscort prices to decrease!!
There are too many variables between the economy, oil, war, $$$. Everyone is trying to make as much as they can with the few sales being made.

I understand what you are saying. Personally, I think the rise in fuel cost this year helped to put the economy in the situation it is in. The only problem now, is that by the time the price dropped, many people were already laid off or terminated. If there is any single thing (other than taxes) that can put a strain on anything manufactured or sold, fuel cost has got to be the most significant.
The excuse they gave for grocery increase was due to the price of corn. It was said that when fuel went up so dramatically, the price of corn went up due to manufacturing ethanol to cheapen fuel. I never realized how much corn is used in the production of food and commodities. Beef and chicken went up because the corn used in their feed went up. A 50 pound bag of dog food that we had been paying $9.99 for a year ago, went up to $14.99 in 2 months. They claim this was because of corn too. Many farmers resorted to raising corn instead of other crops just because of what corn was going for. :bs:

Don't you love how food prices and restaurant prices shot up when gas was $4.50 gallon? Now that it's down to $1.60, those prices haven't dropped, nor have airline fuel surcharges, and just yesterday FedEx and UPS raised their shipping rates by 6%.
I don't think Escort will lower prices anytime soon.

I don't see Escort lowering their price either. Also, I noticed that gas has went up about 30 cents since last Friday. I guess OPEC doesn't feel there is enough pressure on American families now, with all the jobs lost. Sure, they are blaming it on the bombing in Israel. I never knew we got oil from them.

Sounds good to me but I wouldn't hold my breath. They can however start by offering modular packages, e.g. 9500ci with & without the ZR4 and probably could stand to get rid of aging products like the SRX, SR7 etc. which I don't really hear anything on anymore to the best of my knowledge...
