6" banner on windshield how well do detectors work mounted right behind

its a black sticker mounted right across the top of windsheld I like to mount the sti behind it.. will it pick up radar still??

As long as there is no metal in that strip, it should work just fine. An easy way to test it is to park in a parking lot facing a store door opener and check the reception behind that strip, then move it down and see if the radar reception increases below that strip.

^x2 or find a stationary speed sign to use as well

not 100 percent sure I understand what u guys mean.. my radar is not in just yet coming this week. so I am new to the features of the sti

once you get your sti...mount it behind the strip and find a speed sign or a walmart....this will give a reading on your sti...while getting the reading move your sti below the strip so it is in clear view...if there is a reception increase, moving from say a k band with 2 bands to k band with 3 or 4 bands then the sticker reduces your reception slightly...if not then the sticker doesnt block any reception and you have found a much more stealth way of mounting your RD out of sight and still with great reception...hope that helps you a lil

Some tint doesn't affect radar performance at all but like dj said if it is metallic it will significantly lower performance. The tint also has a dramatic impact on laser performance but usually if you pick up laser it's to late anyway cause your caught.

like i said...find a source whether it be a false or a speed sign and check reception both behind the sticker and in clear sight and see if you get a different reading on the RD...if so then it blocks reception...if not use it to your advantage of having a stealth install

because I dont have the radar yet I didn't know about signal checking features etc.. thats why I didn't understand what u ment.

so it will display some kind of bar graph?

Yes, it will display a bar graph proportional to signal strength and will beep faster when the signal strength is greater and beep slower when the signal strength is weaker.
