Alert Lock....Scary testing results for GX-65.

So RacerX, Chris and myself went to mainly do some testing on my newly installed Blinder....it did excellent.

So then we busted out all the radar guns between the two of them and decided to try out the Alert Lock on my GX-65.

Chris positioned himself perpendicular to the road like a T as a cop would. He shot K across the road from a forward dash mounted remote antenna (Chris feel free to chime in what Brands and Bands) at about half way on the test road that was 3/4 mile long.

I drove past and locked out the constant on. When I came back, the GX locked out the signal. That part worked great.
Then the next run as I entered the lockout zone and the sat symbol was spinning, Chris hit me with a handheld K gun. I got NO ALERT at all.:eek:
Next run I went through the lockout zone and he hit me with his other K band gun. NO ALERT :eek::eek:
Next run as in the lockout zone, both Chris and Racerx both hit me with 2 different K band guns at the same time with NO ALERT at all. :eek::eek::eek::(

The only thing that did work in the K band C/O lockout zone was when Chris hit me with Ka. I got full bars right away.
After seeing this, I will not be using lockout anymore:(

One of the reasons i don't use the lockout on my 9500i. i rather get the false alert then get no alert to a real alert:rolleyes:

This is why I will stick to a detector that gives you all alerts so you can decide for yourself if it is a real alert:026: But I will say if this wasn't my personality I probably couldn't handle my V1. Thank god im young and noise don't bother me.;)

I used mph python II series K band for the c/o signal for the lockout test mounted on the dash .
I also used a Decatur genesis K band hand held gun and a kustom signals falcon K cordless gun for the test to see if these other k band radar signals would also be locked out. my conclusion is DO NOT USE THE LOCK OUT FEATURE.
it doesn't work like you think, it locked all k band signals out
we also tested the 3 k band radar guns to see what the frequency was for the test.

mph radar the lock out c/o was 24.160
genesis was 24.153
kusstom signals was 24.173
all three guns were not the same as the lock out frequency.
only the ka band 35.5 from my talon would work in the lock out zone

And you don't have a V1 because.....why? :p

I have a v1 ,bel rx65, 8500x-50, bel 985

Pretty scary stuff. And some folks say this won't happen.:eek:
