C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
So I've been a lurker here for quite some time, I have read many tests and reports but want some direct feedback.
I have a Passport SRX that I got a good deal on a while back. I know it isn't a very capable jammer against some of the new guns especially. It's radar detection has been pretty damn good and I'm happy with that portion of it as of now.
I would like some better protection on my C6 Corvette (metallic red BTW, not sur ehow much that matters), especially from in front. I was thinking I could move the two primary SRX heads to the back of the car and put a new system up front. I don't run a front plate either so that helps minimize my reflection along with the short profile of the car as well.
So what do you think? What would you put on? BTW I'm up in Mass, metrowest area, I'm not really sure what I'm upagainst as far as LIDAR guns, any idea?
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
Is there any particular reason your concerned? The C6 is pretty stealth by itself and the ZR3 should give you good protection especially without the front plate.
If you just want the best then the Laser Interceptor is widely accepted to be the best performing jammer on the market. Your idea to swap the ZR3 heads to the back and run a two head LI system up front sounds good. Take some pix when your done.
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
I agree with Erick,
given that you own a C6, I believe you want the best performing jammer money can buy, then LI is for you. If you're on budget, there are plenty of choices.
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
The main reason for concern is I'm a young guy in a fast car, I won't/don't get much sympathy if I get pulled over. I don't drive too fast, but sometimes I do without realizing on the highway. I do see the Mass Staties with the laser guns out on a regular basis, not problems yet. I'd rather spend $500 and avoid a ticket with a jammer then spend $250 plus on a ticket and thousands in surcharges. :D
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
Is LI still considered the best? I remember reading some concerns about the unit used on the GOL testing. Or am I thinking of something else?
I would like to spend under $500. I don't necessarily need something that will jam every gun down to less than 300 ft but something that consistently jams all guns I need to worry about up here in MA at 400ft+
Thanks for the input BTW

How has your ZR3 worked on your C6? Any confirmed jams?

According to GOL's and numerous independent tests, LI is currently the best performer.
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
I have ZR3s on my previous car and LI on my current car. Sold the previous car to a friend so will try to get him to let me test both cars side by side with some newer guns, if you can wait a few weeks before making a decision. Otherwise, I'd go with LI upfront.
Re: C6 Corvette- What Jammer Would You Use?
the ZR3 is good, Erick had it on his C6. We tested it back in Houston last year... Of course you want to shut it off and slow down.
Now, what are your driving habits and where are you located?

If that's all you need then you should be fine in your current configuration. The LI is for three things. Close shooters, big vehicles and people who want to jam all the way to the gun. The ZR3 will easily protect a C6 down to 300 ft.
The only rap on the LI I know of was build quality but that seems to have been rectified. CS is supposedly top notch and the units seem well built and durable. I'm not sure how old the oldest LI still in service is but it should last the service life of your vehicle.
I still wouldn't drive through high water with it though, and before you laugh that's exactly what I had to do just last October. Had to drive through two blocks full of water. Gave the ZR3 a nice water test which it passed with flying colors.
