The Carrollton Police Department will begin enforcing a new city ordinance enacted by the Carrollton City Council beginning Feb. 16. The ordinance authorizes officers to impound vehicles that have been stopped for violations of city or state traffic laws or other laws applicable to the operation of a vehicle on the roadway and the vehicle’s owner or operator fails to show proof of financial responsibility as required by the Texas Transportation Code.
Police are reminding motorists to always carry proof of valid insurance or other proof of financial responsibility as required by the Texas Transportation Code.
