V1 Third Brake Light Laser False - VIDEO
I've been encountering quite a few laser falsing lately with my new V1, today I managed to capture it on video falsing on a Chevy Trailblazers third brake light. I've read how these brake lights can make the V1 false, but don't really understand the concept behind the fact.
Why do some vehicles third brake light cause the V1 to false? I wouldn't imagine it's emitting a frequency of any kind, unlike laser guided cruise control systems would on some Infiniti vehicles, etc. Does it have to do something with the light detection on the unit? Why does it false on third brake lights on some vehicles and not others? I'd never experienced a laser false with my Escort products in the past, both the 8500 X50 and 9500ix.
Any input is appreciated.

At least you know the laser detection is working properly. Although if you have laser in your area a jammer is highly recommended and is your only real line of defense to keep you safe. IME the V1 has great detection of laser, I have picked up scatter and it has saved my tail a couple times but it is normally too late if you are the lead or only guy out on the road and doesn't mean the LEO can't pick you out of the center of the pack.
I can’t comment on the Escort products you mentioned since I have not owned those.
In tests we did here with a 1.8 and 1.7 V1’s against the photo laser vans we picked them up front and rear every time as the laser was aimed at the tags, but there was no time to brake, as soon as you had an alert you were just toast without a jammer.

Read the article on the website. So if the third light emits a neon plasma light source that the V1 will intercept and alert to then why is it not constant? To my experience it seems that it's a short burst, as the V1 will alert for 1-2 seconds and the alert will go away, even when you can clearly see that the Trailblazer light is still on while I was right behind it.

From trailvoy.com? I think I remember your username on there. I'm a member there but haven't been there in quite some time.

I don't like it when this happens to me either. You are driving around w/ your V1 and all of a sudden laser goes off but then you see either the Trailblazer or Envoy in front of you, and find yourself shaking your head.;)
