Two motorcycles and two detectors interfere?
My friend and I ride together often on two seperate motorcycles. He has the XTR695 and I have a V1. Since we ride fairly close on the freeway can this cause interference between the detectors?
Reason I ask is I had a strange encounter with forward facing KA recently. My V1 only alerted briefly when I was almost abreast of the LEO and maybe 1 or 2 beeps after I passed him. Normally I don't have any problems with my V1. My friend said he received a constant alert for awhile after we passed the LEO.
I did notice when I arrived home I had accidently left the V1 in big L mode. V1 (and others here) claim this won't affect KA reception. I took it out of big L mode, of course, and haven't noticed any issues since.

That sounds like interference to me.

Agree 100%
Either your V1 is completely ****ed, mounted HORRIBLY, or your friend's whistler is spewing garbage into the air and effecting your reception tremendously.
If you're friend got a hard lock while riding away from the officer and you got nothing, something is very, very, wrong.
The v1 has excellent rear radar detection. It's as good as the front -- sometimes almost seems better. heh.
Run your v1 while riding alone and note any encounters. It might be time to send it in, but I suspect your friend's RD might be interfering with you.
