9500ci Illumination Color
I did a quick search and didn't find much on this...
Can the 9500ci be had in any color other than blue. (Some member here is floating around with a sig picture which includes a 9500ci controller as well as a separate pic that says "Highway" in red. Not sure if that means anything, but I'm hoping).
If not, is this an easy thing to mod? Can you swap out some illumination LEDs for another color (orange would be nice... or white...)

It comes only in Blue. Some here have done the mod to red, but it's not easy.
Re: 9500ci Illumination Color
Yes it can me modified to red, you either have to find someone with a STi-R display willing to change or purchase one from Bel and do it yourself.
MEM-TEK or REBinc can tell you what the modification entails.
Re: 9500ci Illumination Color
Hi Swancoat,
If you either purchase a red display module and flush mount face plate from Bel or if you find a STi-R owner who wants the blue display, then I will perform the display swap for a small fee. The color conversion involves desoldering and removing the LED displays from the attached circuit boards, and then swapping the LED displays and cover plates.

Well, there you have it! Services offered! Can't beat that.

And I do perfect looking solder work too. All of the solder connections will look factory when I am done.
Re: 9500ci Illumination Color
Awesome. My planned detector install is getting more expensive every day... but is probably going to kick some ass.

Oh, it will kick some if it is installed properly. And that brings up a good point. If you or your installer has any questions about component placement, et cetera, definitely ask here and/or on Escort's escortradarforum.com and post pictures as necessary in order to get our opinions and recommendations. Lately we have seen some fantastic 9500ci installations as well as a few 9500ci installations which were poorly done.
:)
Re: 9500ci Illumination Color
The $10 radioshack solder de-sucker totally paid for itself with this one. Soldering took about 10 minutes, figuring out I had to hit the power button on the controller took 3 hours, lol.
I also added the V1 strength meter to the top of the 9500ci display, :D

That looks awesome. Is that a GTO?
