8500 slightly warm? (at night, not in sun)
hey. I figured i'd make a new post about this separate from the refurb thread.
My 8500 gets slightly warm...not hot or anything, but a bit warm to the touch even when it's cloudy or at night and cool. Is this normal? I ask because i'm trying to figure out if i got a dud or not.
thanks guys

Electronics produce heat, it's normal. Unless you start getting burned from it, I wouldn't worry about it.

I actually point one of my vents at whichever windshield mounted RD I happen to be running while I'm driving.

Warm = Radar Detector is ON.
Cold = Radar detector is OFF.......or ON but DEAD.........or Under your SEAT.
HOT = Sunny day or your in a Radar Saturated Area and the thing hasn't

Hey there noTe. Sometimes the v1 gets so hot in the sun you can't hold it.
EDIT: I just shot the v1 with an infrared thermometer and and it said 119. I forgot it was on and it has been sitting in the garage for 4 hours.
