X Falses In Durham Region Sti Driver

Checked "Radar bands by Town" and don't see that X Band is being used in Durham Region. Seems half of my falses come from X band and some say we don't need X band in Durham. A real pain to get the falses when no chance of X band existing down here. Would like to turn off X band but some posters say it does exist in Durham. Would appreciate any comments. Now that I have set Sti Driver to tech mode seem to see a lot of k24.16 falses also. The .16 seems to change but the k24 seems to be a constant?

There is no X-band police radar units in Ontario anymore, all you have to care is K (OPP and lots of locals) and Ka (Toronto Police uses exclusively the Ka33.8 MPH radar units), also most of the banks, stores, dealerships falses aree K-band, very rarely you have a false Ka therefore the only way to learn all places with K falses is to drive more, so the more you drive the faster you will learn where the falses are, also anytime you get a K or Ka on a totally isolated road in the middle of nowhere, let's say Hwy 7 east of Lindsay with no buildings around, just an empty and large corn field, that's 1000% a REAL police radar so you MUST act accordingly: SLOW DOWN, 10-15 km/h over the local speed limit!

No X in Durham - police there use K band 95% of the time (I have heard of a few OPP and possibly durham region cars being outfitted with Ka). Yes, Toronto Metro use Ka only.

BUT, X band has been observed in norther parts of Ontario. One user even reported a real X band threat just north of barrie on the 400 within the past year... Leave all of your bands on when traveling up north - period.

Thanks guys. There's another project for tomorrow-get rid of X band on the STi. I'm sure most of us don't mind the falses if there's a chance it could be the real thing but these X falses are starting to get annoying. Very true with the Ka-haven't had a false with that yet. Owned Sti for only about 7 weeks or so and the 8 or 9 Ka encounters have all been for real.

True, don't drive too much and often north of Barrie, I've been to Huntsville, Tobermory and Cedar Point and no police issues whatsoever, most of my Ontario driving is done btwn Windsor, Buffalo and Quebec where 100% all OPP is K only BUT might be possible some local municipalities to use some X, I don't think that but anything is possible!

I'm in the same boat as fastguy. I don't drive North of Barrie too often, mostly GTA. I always have had X-On, but now, I'm turning it off. It's annoying. Still lovin the STi, drove by so many cops and not one has noticed it (yet)
