LI and 9500ci on Nissan GTR
Hi,
After learning quite a bit from this site, I bought a dual LI for front, along with a 9500ci.
I did the install myself with help of a few friends. Along with the 9500ci and the LI, I also installed a backup camera, a navigation bypass switch, and an audio/video harness. The whole thing included two sensors on the back, three on the front, as well as three panels, three switches, three cpu boxes, the radar GPS, one speaker and one LED all installed inside.

It was about 20 hours of work to get everything installed. None of us had any experience on car installs before, but we took our time, had lots of fun, and I am pretty happy with the result.

The LI heas look like they are not pointing straight down the road, they shouldn't be angled out to the sides.
Also the best performance is then the bubbles are closer to the head lights.
Where are your front 9500ci shifter heads mounted?
Personally if I were you I would move the RD's display closer to the gauge cluster so you can see it with out diverting for eye too much from the road

Incredibly nice job! I love how the AV plugs are tucked away like that.
I would agree with cVr's suggestions. It looks like the LI heads are following the angle of the grille, and that may well degrade your overall performance significantly. And yes, the bubbles should be out, towards the headlights.
I think you'll agree after a little use that the RD display would be a lot better off in your normal field of view too. But again, that is a great job of installation! Each time is a learning experience, and it gets more fun every time!

Excellent job overall, I'd say flip the heads and make them with the bubbles out...

X2 Get a yard stick and see if the heads are aligned properly.

Thanks for the great comments.
I wasn't sure which side the bubbles are supposed to be at. That's an easy fix; so is adjusting the orientation to make them point straight ahead. I'll do that before taking it for testing.
As for the RD display, it does require moving my eyes from the road, but it is within line of sight. I will just experience with it a little bit to see how it feels, but so far the speaker has been pretty informative for the immediate-alert type messages. If I feel like I am distracted from the road looking at the display often enough, I'll move it closer to other gauges.
In previous photos I had not included a picture of the radar speaker installation. I have attached two images for it. It is installed under my parking-brake, out of sight but easy to hear.

WOW! You have got to be kidding me! How in the heck did you even think of that? That's some real outside-the-box thinking there! Or should I say, inside-the-console?
Excellent work! This should inspire all those people who think they can't figure this stuff out!

gtrrr, that's *SUPER* impressive for first-time DIYers. I really haven't seen any first-timer installs that are that clean and well-thought-out! :):cool:

Regarding the "bubbles," conventional thinking is that the receivers closer to the headlamps should be better/best, but without direct testing, on a vehicle as wide as yours, when combined with the center-mass point-weakness of the front plate, I'd say that's something that may or may not prove to be the case. Ivan (interceptor) - the man behind the LI - is not unknown for occasionally recommending an unconventional "bubbles in" formation, on specific vehicles/setups.
Regardless, it does seem that your current placement would bias too much receptive capability towards covering center-mass, and perhaps not enough to cover the outer aspects of the headlamps as well as the lower body panels and rearview mirrors. Without testing, I'd go with the other's recommendation, and turn the bubbles "out" for the time being, and seek to optimize, if-possible, at a later date, to see if the unconventional setup of "bubbles-in" would work better.

I agree, but look at his headlights and how far out are... I'd say get your setup tested and then adjust it accordingly...
