When I bought my 8500 I ordered a hardwire kit with it too, I already have my GPS in the dash outlet and use the center console outlet I added for my Zune, iPod, scanner and phone..

What is your scanner mounted to?
It has the little "nub" that a CB mic uses so I just put a CB mic clip on the dash. I know the scanner isn't a great countermeasure but it's fun to listen to and it's nice to know of any accidents and such in the area.
