most compact all band scanner antenna?
well been messing around with it last few days. i only programed one code in for my area till iget the pc software etc working..
reallu nice it this uniden. bands in the 800 do work ok with rubber ducky but low bands like cb etc forget it.
so i like to mount a glass mount but most all bands are like 27" damm I like to add some antenna up with 12"
Re: most compact all band scanner antenna?
I love my old BCD396T, but it can't replace a dedicated CB. I'd defintely go with a direct connection rather than a through the glass mount -- there's just too much loss. Although some of the compact antennas barely cut it for the lower public safety bands, nothing short of a 1/4 wave whip will really cut it for CB. If stealth is an object, you might try disguising it as a standard issue AM/FM antenna. I've thought about getting fancy with a CB-band Yagi disguised as a roof rack, but I'm not sure yet if it would work properly.

With antennas size matters and smaller only works without major sacrifice when you're looking at short wavelengths.
