Question for anyone who currently owns an Escort 8500x50 or Escort Redline
I was just curious if anyone on here owns either an Escort 8500x50 or Redline AND has a Bushnell K band radar gun. If you do, I was wondering if you might be willing to upload some quick trigger videos to this site. I would do my own testing, but I don't have the money for a radar gun at the moment. I am really curious to physically see how long it takes for the Redline the register quick bursts of radar. Thanks

There are several videos posted of redline Q/T, on this forum. Elvato and CBR has some. And for what it is worth, The redline is not good at Q/T. I bought one to replace my failed 9500ix specifically for this issue. I was very sad with redline's performance pertaining to this, and it's other problems and sent it back for my refund and got the trustworthy V1, and then had a member of this forum mod it's display to make it more pleasurable. :D

No current Escort does well against Q/T. The older S7 based 8500's do better than the newer Escort models. If Q/T is a issue where you live get a V1, or a Whistler.
Here's a link to a test Rob and I did with a Bushnell.

Re: Question for anyone who currently owns an Escort 8500x50 or Escort Redline
A few weeks ago I was stuck in traffic for 20-30 minutes due to an acccident, and happened to be across the road from a convenience store with a K-band door opener, and out of boredom I started playing around with the Redline.
Settings were: Highway, X-off, Expert Meter (and all other misc. junk off)
I pulled it off its windshield mount and held it facing out the driver's side window (with the window rolled up) at the store, which was 80-100 yards away, and it went to full alert.
I then covered the front of the RD with my hand, and after about 5 seconds it stopped alerting and just displayed "H" on the screen. I kept it covered for 10-15 seconds to see if it would pick anything up through my hand, but it didn't.
Then I slowly moved my hand down uncovering it, and it immediately alerted; when I covered it back up, it continued to alert for about 5 seconds and then went quiet.
I started uncovering it moving my hand faster and faster each time and I only moved my hand down far enough to just uncover the lens before moving it back up, and I always let it stop alerting before uncovering it again. No matter how fast I tried to uncover it and cover it back up with my hand, it always alerted.
How fast can you uncover and re-cover something you are holding right in front of you? I'd guess that my reaction time to do this is around 1/2 second, and the time the lens was actually uncovered was 1/4 second.
Granted, this was a fairly strong signal; I'll repeat the test from farther away.
